Pulmonary Function

Whole-body Plethysmography System for Mice and Rats (WBP-4MR)

A 4-channel system designed for use with both mice and rats, making it the most flexible option of the three Plethysmography systems. It measures the same core respiratory parameters in conscious, unrestrained animals and supports respiratory pharmacology, toxicology, AHR testing, long-term follow-up and repetitive screening.

Whole-body Plethysmography System for Rats(WBP-4R)

A 4-channel whole-body plethysmography system designed specifically for rats. It measures respiratory parameters in conscious, unrestrained animals, including respiratory rate, tidal volume and airway hyperresponsiveness. It is used for respiratory disease research, safety pharmacology, toxicology, sleep apnoea studies and long-term respiratory monitoring.

Whole-body Plethysmography System for Rats(WBP-8R)

The WBP-8R is the rat version of the same 4-channel whole-body plethysmography platform. It is designed to monitor respiratory function in rats while they remain conscious and unrestrained, avoiding anaesthesia and invasive airway procedures. It measures the same core respiratory parameters, including respiratory rate, tidal volume, peak inspiratory/expiratory flow, minute ventilation and enhanced pause, and is used for respiratory pharmacology, safety pharmacology, inhalation toxicology, environmental toxicology and long-term respiratory monitoring.

Pulmonary Function Test System

PFT System is a comprehensive evaluation system for the respiratory and lung function of animals. It can measure airway resistance, lung compliance, FEV, FVC, FEV0.1/FVC, FEV0.2/FVC, FEF, FRC, EF50, and other indicators. It can be used in mice, rats, guinea pigs, and other animals, other sizes fro larger animal can be customized according to customers’ requirements.

Non-invasive Respiratory Testing System for Unrestrained Animals

The Non-Invasive Respiratory Testing WBP System is designed to measure breathing function in conscious, unrestrained animals without the need for surgery, anaesthesia or restraint.

It uses whole-body plethysmography chambers to monitor respiratory changes in real time, making it suitable for repeated testing and long-term studies. The system can be used to assess respiratory rate, tidal volume, airflow, minute ventilation, airway response and other breathing parameters.

It is commonly used in respiratory disease research, drug screening, inhalation studies, toxicology, asthma and COPD models, and general lung function assessment in small animals.

Whole-body Plethysmography System for NHP(WBP-P)

The WBP-P Whole-body Plethysmography System for NHP is a non-invasive respiratory monitoring system designed for non-human primates. It measures breathing parameters while the animal remains conscious and unrestrained, avoiding anaesthesia, surgery or tracheotomy.

It can be used to assess respiratory rate, tidal volume, airflow, minute ventilation, enhanced pause and airway hyperresponsiveness. The system is suitable for respiratory disease research, safety pharmacology, inhalation toxicology, environmental toxicology, sleep apnoea studies, high-altitude medicine and long-term respiratory monitoring.

The main difference from the WBP-T is the animal type and chamber size. WBP-P is designed for non-human primates, while WBP-T is designed for rabbits. Both systems perform similar whole-body respiratory monitoring, but the WBP-P is the larger system for primate studies.

Portable Respirometer

The Portable Respirometer is a compact system for measuring animal breathing and respiration in research settings. It is designed for small animal studies where researchers need to monitor respiratory activity, oxygen consumption, carbon dioxide output or related metabolic changes.

Its portable design makes it suitable for flexible laboratory use, short-term respiratory testing and physiological monitoring. The system can support studies in metabolism, respiratory function, drug response, toxicology, exercise physiology and general animal behaviour research.

It is useful where researchers need a smaller, easy-to-move system for collecting respiratory data without using a large fixed laboratory setup.

 Nebulization, Inhalation & Exposure

Nose-only Inhalation Exposure System for Small Animals (NOE)

The Nose-only Inhalation Exposure System for Small Animals (NOE) is designed for controlled inhalation exposure and nose-only drug administration studies in mice, rats, guinea pigs and other laboratory animals.

It delivers aerosols, dusts, nanoparticles, smoke or gases directly to the animal’s breathing zone, helping ensure consistent exposure doses across the test group. The system supports online aerosol concentration monitoring, real-time sampling and high-precision control to maintain stable exposure conditions.

It is suitable for respiratory disease modelling, inhaled drug testing, toxicology, PM2.5 research, environmental safety studies, chemical exposure studies and aerosol-based research. The system can be configured for liquid aerosol exposure or combined liquid and dry powder aerosol exposure.

Multi-concentration Nose-only Inhalation Exposure System for Small Animals (NOE)

The Multi-concentration Nose-only Inhalation Exposure System for Small Animals (NOE) is designed for controlled nose-only inhalation exposure and drug administration studies in mice, rats, guinea pigs and other laboratory animals.

Its main advantage is that it can generate multiple exposure concentrations at the same time from a single aerosol source. The tower can be configured with 24 or 36 channels, with 12 channels per layer. Each layer can be controlled separately, allowing different animal groups to receive different dose levels during the same experiment.

The system uses a double-chamber exposure tower, with the inner chamber delivering aerosol directly to the animal and the outer chamber collecting exhaled gas. This helps prevent re-inhalation and improves exposure control.

It is suitable for inhaled drug testing, respiratory disease modelling, inhalation toxicology, PM2.5 research, pollutant exposure, chemical safety studies and environmental toxicology. Compared with the standard NOE system, this version is best for studies that need several dose groups running simultaneously rather than one exposure concentration at a time.

Whole-Body Exposure System (WBE)

The Whole-Body Exposure System (WBE) is designed for controlled animal exposure studies in toxicology, pharmacology and environmental health research. It exposes animals such as mice, rats and guinea pigs to controlled concentrations of gases, vapours or aerosols through natural breathing routes.

Unlike a nose-only exposure system, the WBE exposes the animal’s whole body, including the skin and fur. This makes it useful for simulating more realistic exposure scenarios, such as air pollution, smoke, chemical vapours, dust, nanoparticles, pollen, PM2.5 and aerosolised drug delivery.

The system includes environmental monitoring and control for temperature, humidity, pressure, oxygen, carbon dioxide and drug concentration. It also includes exhaust treatment, stainless-steel chamber construction, lighting, UV sterilisation, video monitoring, alarm indicators and an internal spray-cleaning system.

Nose-only Inhalation Exposure System for Large Animals (NOE)

The Nose-only Inhalation Exposure System for Large Animals (NOE) is designed for controlled nose-only administration and inhalation exposure studies in larger animals such as rabbits, dogs and monkeys. It is used to expose animals to inhalable substances including liquid aerosols, dust aerosols, nanoparticles, smoke, PM2.5, pollutants, drugs and gases.

The system uses a double-chamber exposure tower, where the inner chamber delivers the aerosol directly to the exposure channel and the outer chamber collects exhaled air. This helps reduce re-inhalation and improves exposure stability. It also supports online aerosol concentration detection, real-time sampling and monitoring of temperature, humidity, oxygen, carbon dioxide, pressure and drug concentration.

It differs from the small-animal NOE systems because it is configured for larger animals, with suitable immobilisers and exposure channels. The page lists a standard 10-channel configuration and is intended for respiratory disease modelling, inhalation toxicology, drug safety testing, PM2.5 research, chemical exposure and environmental safety studies.

Whole-body Nebulized Drug Delivery System (AER)

The Whole-body Nebulized Drug Delivery System (AER) is used for animal model creation, sensitisation studies and inhalation exposure research. It atomises liquid medicines into inhalable aerosols and disperses them inside a whole-body exposure chamber.

Unlike the three-channel nose-only system, this system exposes the animal’s whole body inside a chamber rather than delivering the aerosol only to the nose. It is available in single and dual-channel configurations, with different chamber sizes available for small, medium or large setups.

The system uses microporous sieve atomisation to generate fine aerosol droplets of around 1–5 microns, which can reach deep into the lungs. It is suitable for aerosol administration and respiratory disease modelling, including bronchial asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, chronic bronchitis and lung injury studies.

Animal Smoke Exposure System

The Animal Smoke Exposure System is an automatic closed exposure system designed for COPD modelling in animals such as mice, rats and guinea pigs. It automatically generates cigarette smoke so animals can continuously inhale it under controlled conditions.

The system allows researchers to control the frequency and amount of smoke, while monitoring smoke levels and environmental conditions inside the exposure chamber in real time. It supports automated cigarette loading and lighting, smoke delivery into the fumigation chamber, environmental monitoring, exhaust adsorption and waste-gas removal.

It is mainly used for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease research, smoke-exposure modelling and respiratory toxicology studies where consistent, repeatable cigarette-smoke exposure is required.

EcigAero Aerosol Exposure Apparatus

The EcigAero Aerosol Exposure Apparatus is designed for animal studies into the effects of repeated e-cigarette aerosol exposure. It exposes rodents to a cage-like aerosol environment to help researchers study both acute and chronic effects of e-cigarette use.

It is used for in vivo research into how e-cigarette aerosols may affect the respiratory, cardiovascular and neurological systems, as well as metabolism, addiction and carcinogenesis. The system allows researchers to control exposure dose, cigarette type, quantity, timing, interval and frequency.

The system can simulate realistic smoking behaviours, including aerosol exposure with fresh air flow between exposures. It can support longer experiments, including programmed exposure over up to 72 hours, and can be used with physiological monitoring systems such as telemetry for ECG and blood pressure. It can support 5 mice or 1 rat at one time.

Liquid Aerosol Generator (NSF)

The Liquid Aerosol Generator (NSF) is a liquid aerosol generator designed to continuously and stably produce aerosol from liquid solutions. The output concentration can be adjusted, making it suitable for controlled aerosol generation in inhalation, exposure and environmental testing studies.

It uses a high-borosilicate glass sample bottle with a specially designed nozzle and built-in micro air compressor. High-speed airflow passes through the nozzle to shear the liquid and generate aerosol mist. Larger particles are returned to the container, while smaller aerosols are output for testing.

It is suitable for generating tracer particles, salt aerosols, PSL spheres, PAO, saline solution and drug aerosols. It can also be used for HEPA/ULPA filter efficiency testing, clean-room inspection, drug atomisation, and atomisation of bacteria or virus solutions for contamination experiments.
